- October 11th: 5K race starts at 9am at 6th Street will go around perimeter of campus. Roughly 500 people expected to participate, which will impact traffic
- October 14th: Pep Rally from 7-9pm at William Greene Stadium
- October 15th: Street event on campus known as Entertainment Power Expo will run from 12-6pm.
- October 16th: Fashion Show at 6:30 and 9:30 located at Cramton Auditorium
- October 17th:
- Yard Fest from 12pm-6pm – this year will be a little different in order to in accommodate families and many events are off campus
- Step Show will be at DC Armory at 8pm

- Parade begins at 10am, lasts till roughly 1pm and will begin closing streets at 8am, on 6th Street to W Street where stage is located – civic association will have a table located at 4th and T Street.
- Football Game begins at 1pm at William Greene Stadium
- R&B Concert will be at Cramton Auditorium at 7pm
- Hip Hop Concert will be at DC Armory at 9pm

- Campus Plan Amendment – Maybelle Taylor Bennett
- Space located on north side of Berry Street between Sherman Ave and 9th Street is currently zoned as R-5-B but looking to rezone to C-2-B, and will close an alley.
- C-2-B: Permits matter-of-right medium density development, including office, retail, housing, and mixed uses to a maximum lot occupancy of 80% for residential use and 100% for all other uses, a maximum FAR of 3.5 for residential use and 1.5 FAR for other permitted uses, and a maximum height of sixty-five (65) feet. Rear yard requirements are fifteen (15) feet; one family detached dwellings and one family semi-detached dwellings side yard requirements are eight (8) feet.
- The proposed 6 story building will include: 319 residential units, 143 parking units (one level above ground and one level under), and 12,000 square feet of retail space.
- Project is managed by Ambling University Development Group in collaboration with Gateway Partners and Pinak Mehta. The project architect is Niles Bolton Associates.
- Will seek a Planned Unit Development (PUD) and file with the Zoning Commission once it has presented the project to all community stakeholders, likely sometime in October or November.

- Jennifer Wisdom: starting September 29, the alley next to 1839 5th Street will be closed for one week

- Speed Bumps: going to a traffic study at 300 block of T
- DDOT: need better signs at 6th and U due to confusing one way sign
- Officers Patrol: during the summerpolice have expanded patrol upon community request. Email Anita if there are other areas you would like more presence. Issue of bike stealing. Register bike at 1800-848-2453 (BIKE) at $10 for 10 years or $25 for 30 years. Works with police to help locate stolen bikes
- Sept 11 Police Presence: rumors of domestic related issue involving a gun, but police presence was due to President Obama in the neighborhood.
- Homeless Population: spoken to MPD and little they can due to no loitering laws. Littering issues and Steve Barron 202-673-7440
- Safety Walk: starting again on Oct 21 at 7pm and will continue each month.

- Officer Morgan: please register your bikes. It is very helpful. Crime reports –
- 3 robberies (one closed, two open) which is low
- theft by autos continues to be an issue – lock your car doors
- 1 burglary on 6th Street entered through bathroom window on second floor – lock your windows
- Homeless Issue – they have moved from the wall to the circle. If you see illegal activity the call 911.
- Noise – before 7am and after 10pm make call to 911 and police will respond

- Casey Trees event on Oct 25: The tree planting is scheduled for Saturday, October 25th (9am – 12pm). LPCA‟s commitment for the day of planting is to recruit 30 neighborhood volunteers and provide breakfast and lunch for a total of 100 volunteers. Furthermore, LCPA is responsible for developing a three-year watering and maintenance plan.

- Ben Ball: been having persistent issues with Elks Lodge in which they have been violating their settlement agreements. See attached letter for details regarding exact problems and proposed next steps.
